I think that is completely a personal preferences, some like to start with their eye makeup, others start with their face.
I do:
primer
bb cream (I don't wear foundation)
powder
blush
mascara
brows
eyeliner
eyeshadow
lips

I'm not a pro but there is a way to properly do part of your makeup you cant do your whole face and then put face primer on the preperation to putting on makeup is the first step thats why its called preping, the name them selfs of makeup tell you exactly what order to do them except for some for example preping the skin (prepare the skin), primer (priming), foundation (foundation for the makeup or base) concealer (to conceal what the foundation didnt cover) what you do next from here is all on you except for the finishing powder (the last thing you put on thats why its called finishing powder) I don't know if I make scence... As to contouring I use the kevyn aucoin sculpting powder and to highlight I use the kevyn aucoin celestial powder jacqueline h recommended them to me and I couldnt be happier that she did
