do E.l.f eyeshadows work well?

I'm thinking about geting my friend who is really into makeup the E.l.f Everyday 48 Color palette because something like it was on her wishlist. Do the eyeshadows work well? It's only $5.00 so I kind of had to wonder. If not, any good makeup brands that sell a product with a bunch of eyeshadows in it? Thx!
