Hi ladies,
What are some tips to make your hair longer and healthier? What shampoo do you use? For that matter, what conditioner do you use?

There is no shampoo or conditioner that's going to make your hair longer, it's all about how you take care of your hair and genetics that determine that. As far as healthier goes I use sulphate free shampo when I do wash my hair (I only wash my hair twice a month, co wash it once a week) and I like the Goddess Curls Shampoo but I've been using a shampoo by Aunt Jessie that I've been liking to. Conditioner wise I use As I An Cowash, I tried making my own conditioner the other week and it went well (bananas, mayo, honey, coconut oil) but my hair is so tightly coiled and I didn't chop up the bananas enough that I got tiny banana bits in my hair. They came out with some brushing and my hair felt really nice and soft, but I think I'll use baby food bananas next time...
Anyway, deep condtion your hair often and trim as you seem necessary (when split ends are obvious), stimulate and massage your scalp with peppermint oil or even coconut oil. Try to cut back on heat or anything with harsh chemicals in it and your hair will thank you for it.

Well I use tresseme but my shampoos change all the time lol. but to help it along you can eat avocado and lots of water get your hair trimed especially when you see split ends.

I have pretty long hair and I just stop using heated tools. And in my culture lol (might not just be mine) but they say that if stylist has the 'good hands' meaning if they cut your hair it'll grow.. Which may be true cuz when certain people reim my hair it grows really fast lol.

Keeping healthy helps you grow your hair for longer periods of time without getting it cut - so my basics to getting healthy hair are all Paul Mitchell products - they really took my hair from color damaged n dried out from bleaching my black hair back to being as healthy as if I never colored or used heat on it ever! So I use their moisture line shampoo n conditioner as well as their heat seal before applying any heat and the super skinny serum to restore moisture after straightening - also I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week n use a dry shampoo in between days if needed and try to limit my heat styling to every other day if I want it straight but I usually just wear it natural in the summer :) that has helped my hair tremendously to where I can go up to 4-6 months without a cut depending on how much straightening I do in between cuts before I start seeing any signs of split ends -and my hair dressers always compliment me on how healthy my hair looks they can't believe I apply any heat at all it looks that great :) so hope that helps you too!
