What does beach/salt spray do?

Well I know it makes beach waves but will it work on Asian hair?

It adds texture and slight hold, but can be drying when used too often. Usually paired with scrunching or braiding for a beachy wave result.

I was at CosmoProf with my friend/stylist and grabbed a bottle off the shelf and she snatched it out of my hand and said, "Gurlll, you wanna dry your hair out?"  :p
