Semi-Permanent Color, Shampoo First??

I purchased this VIA natural semi-permanent hair color and I've never used this brand or a semi permanent dye before. the directions say to shampoo, towel dry and then apply color. I've always been under impression that you don't put color on freshly washd hair. is it different with the semi-permanent? so dilemma is should I wash it first or not? I was planning on coloring tonight and want to get the most out of the application. thanks :-)

Clean or dirty hair will not make a difference in application. color is going to stick to the hair regardless. shampoo first then you won't have to wash for a while and can keep the color fresh for a few days.

Don't condition before the color. after you rinse off should be fine.

K ty. I assumed to nt use conditioner just like with regular dye.
