What is different setting powder and finishing powder?? :( sorry.

A finishing powder gives your makeup that polished finished look, like the Makeup Forever HD Finishing Powder and I believe the Ben Nye powder is a finishing powder to (not 100% sure).
A setting powder sets you makeup and helps it last longer. I'm not sure of a good powder, but I love the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

I believe, since Ben Nye was originally intended for stage make up, it's a setting powder. I haven't personally used it because I can't get my hands on it but it has really amazing reviews

Now I am really confuse about powders lol what's different loose powder and finishing powder and pressed powder??
Apr 27, 2014
Erin M.
A pressed powder is similar to what you see in eyeshadow palettes, it's a powder that's been pressed down into a solid form. A loose powder is like baby powder or powdered sugar when it comes to consistency. A finishing powder or a setting powder can come in either of these forms.

Ok, so which one do I supposed to use after aplly liquid foundation??

You would use a setting powder to set your liquid or cream foundation so that it would last long and it could matte out the shine... A finishing powder is a product you dust on after your setting powder, its softer and silkier in consistency.. like a hd powder its a white powder and if you use it to set your makeup your face will turn white.. Thats a finishing powder...

However when your doing makeup people never really follows rules.. People use ben nye powders as a setting powder for under eye concealer or a finishing powder for all over ya face...

I love ben nye's banana powder but I personally have to be very careful with it, too much of it makes me really yellow. Lol.

I bought the banana powder and I loved it, its a great setting powder but it didnt really go well with my warm skin undertones because I'm more pinkish! So I invest in the Ben nye cameo powder and I loooveeeeee it! I mostly use it to set under my eyes for creasing and around my nose and jawline and I love the silly finish! Its great, definitely worth it :)
