yes iam on fb too and ive got various sources thats how i work...and yeah im from India's biggest popular city Bombay...i hav applied for many sites wic goes on circulars for different candidates but very less get the chance to move out of the country...got lots of other suggestions and opportunities ahead...

Everyone here is on point. Trust...you gotta do some free/donated work. But you have to keep donating and network like CRAZY. I don't know if you're in a big city but if not, IG/FB will be your friend.

How good a profit you make from motives..I sell Mark but I honestly think the prices are to high for some things..Does Davids bridal have a place to put your card because where I'm from a beauty supply has an business card board where anybody can place their card

A good idea too is to try marketing yourself with a cosmetic brand that does one-on-one selling. Personally I am with Motives makeup and I absolutely love it! You can charge to do people's makeup but also you get paid for everytime they want to purchase anything you used on them. You get cost price on everything, and it's profit when your customers want to have the foundation, eyeshadows' etc... If you want to know more, I can help you
PS I have my portfolios and my cards with me at all times. I keep brochures and an agenda to set up appointments anywhere I am. Modelmayhem helped me to get photos, but the best was doing promotional work for events, magazines, etc.. where I got FREE publicity. I keep a small portfolio in my purse and a bigger one in my car, just in case.

I promote my business via word of mouth, Facebook, my website, any way I can.
The best one that's worked so far is networking with photographers. If you work well with them and they love your work, they'd definitely refer you to clients.

Business cards are great!
Start with people you know & branch out from there..start taking pictures of ALL of your work & build a hard copy portfolio, also a virtual one (this site is perfect)

Hey Lynn! My advice to you is that you not only promote directly to potential clients but also to photographers, event planners, bakers, ect. Anyone that is in the wedding business that can help you find jobs. Also, make sure you get a website going but only use professional photos that are your best work. To achieve such photos you should try to hook up with models and photographers and unfortunately offer your services for no pay but photos instead. Since your sister is in the modeling industry then she should be able to hook you up with some photographers. Hope this helps!
