ITS FINALLY TIME FOR MAXI DRESSES!

The dress code at my job is really laid back business casual so wearing a maxi dress is not a problem. Although its laid back, I still want to professional a bit. I was thinking I could wear one with a cardigan or a vest (blue jean, maybe? ) Will that look okay? What type of cardigan would I wear?

Any tips or suggestions? Pictures?

Thanks ladies!

To keep it more businessy than casual, I'd wear it with a blazer instead of a cardigan or vest. Especially because maxi dresses are normally very soft and flowing, you need something to bring structure back into your outfit. Does that make sense? I'd go with a blazer or a fitted jacket, not denim, to keep it professional.

I agree with Hannah but I think you could do a cardigan as long as its fitted and more conservative.

A belt is also a good way to add structure to a flowy maxi.

For the pic above you'd want the cardigan to fit more like the red one in the first pic for more of a buisness feel.

Blazer and the heels add even more of a formal touch.

I would steer clear of denim in the workplace, IMHO.

I would stay clear of jean jackets. pair it with a statement blazer or fitted cardigan like the girls above stated. a statement necklace if wearing a blazer and belt if wearing a cardigan. low kitten heels or sandals or flats.

I definitely think a blazer :) but the cardigans look good too!

You can wear an open cardigan and put a thin belt around your stomach.

Thanks ladies! I like the blazer idea better.
