Are you Muslim? I wouldn't consider Hijabs a fashion statement they are worn for religious reasons, although very gorgeous I don't think it's respectful for you to wear one if you aren't... It does look great through.

Love the elegant pattern and it frames your face beautifully! and your makeup is on point!
and I don't mean to seem ignorant or rude but what is the significance of the hijab? why wear it now? :)

I have to disagree, Isabel. Though I do see where you're coming from. She's not disrespecting the religion by wearing one.

I totally understand guys, I'm converting pretty soon so I decided to start wearing a hijab now.

Hijabs are just apart of the Muslim culture, meant to be worn by a woman. Many are FORCED to wear them , so I kind of, though I am not Muslim , found it offensive that you wear one for a fashion statement. It's like being an Indian/Mexican For Halloween or wearing a Native American headress... Just don't please.

Then Ellis, it look awesome , I just think that Hijabs are a very controversial item in many Muslim cultures, and I don't personally think it should be worn as a fashion statement , I say it because I've seen non Muslim women wearing them and it just irks me. I think you should try different patterns and fabrics, it looks really great though. I really like the pattern on if!

I am not wearing it for a fashion statement I am wearing it because I am converting soon.

I guess I'm not one to find something innocent disrespectful. She's not making a mockery of the culture unlike in instances of "blackface". I see nothing wrong with wearing indian/Mexican/ etc.type costumes.

Guys I think everybody needs to chill, I am not making a mockery of the religion and I'm not wearing a hijab as a fashion statement.

Oh no Ellis. I wasn't talking about you, I was speaking in general. I think people get offended by things that, in my opinion, aren't a big deal. I think people if their intentions are good should be able to do what they what. If youre purposely trying to offend someone by wearing a certain cultural item, that's different. But if I want to wear a traditionally Spanish dress, I can't because I'm not from a Hispanic descent. To me, that's ridiculous. I find something beautiful, but I can't partake because it's not in my blood. Again, that's just me...

Ellis, I grasped that, and like I said before you look stunning! I just though for a moment that it was just to wear one, I didn't mean to start a mutiny but things like people mocking cultures happen really often and many people turn a blind eye to it, so I though I should just tell you, that if you were wearing it to just wear it, that someone of that culture (which you soon will be , congrats and good luck) or anyone for that matter, would find it offensive. Nala, I mean that wearing something of any religion when you aren't apart of that religion is incredibly offensive even if it is just an innocent thing. Think of someone dressing up like a priest and walking around, and they don't practice Catholicism. I can't really explain how it's offensive, but it is. Cultural and religious disrespect is a huge problem , and I usually try to stand up for what's right, I didn't know Ellis was converting soon! But I don't take back what I said. Ellis, all in all, you look fantastic and I think you should try different colors to compliment you eyes and such!

Nala I totally understand and agree with you 100% ☺️

And Nala, I completely understand what you are saying, but I mean mainly religious items here. There is immense beauty in cultures and religions! I do understand the good intentions part , and I may actually agree with it, to an extent!, again awesome look Ellis, more colors, more fabrics!

Again Isabel, I know exactly where you're coming from. But not every person is trying to disrespectful when they wear these things. I mean take dreadlocks for instance, they're technically connected with Africans or West Indians and Rastafarian culture. Yet people from all races and backgrounds get them. It's not meant to be disrespectful, people just like them and it's unfair to say they're disrespecting African culture by having dreadlocks.
But I'm a very open hearted person. I know when people are trying to be disrespectful, this was not one if those instances. even if Ellis wasn't converting I still doubt majority of people, Muslim or not, would find her wearing a hijab disrespectful.

And you do look gorgeous Ellis! (Got caught up in the comments and forgot to say that!)

I agree cultural appropriation is NOT ok whatsoever. Like girls wearing bindis for fashion? Not ok. But you said you're converting so I think it's ok. Also you don't see atheists wearing cross necklaces lol.

If you are converting into Islam you can always talk to me since I am Muslim my self (:
seeing you wear a hijab makes me happy so I really wouldn't call it disrespectful to our culture. I hope one day Inshallah I make a pretty good Hijabi like you! here's ME wearing one (:
