Serious skin issues... Oily + Dry...

Ok so I am 25 and have had terribly oily skin since I was a teenager. I also have tons of black heads that are somewhat manageable with my clarisonic. The problem is the oil! I can wash my face and within half an hour every inch of my face is covered in oil. The only way to avoid the oiliness is when I DONT wash my face. Gross, I know, but sometimes I dread washing it because I know how oily it will be afterwards. And if I go two or three days avoiding it, my skin becomes super flaky, dull, and bumpy. And the black heads come back with a vengeance. It's a lose-lose situation for me.
I have tried SO MANY face washes and moisturizers made for oily skin over the years, and nothing has actually helped. Recently I figured I would try to not combat the oil, but the dryness instead. I began using the white dove beauty bar along with my clarisonic. The first few times I thought I'd finally found the perfect soap. Now I'm back to being grossly oily after using it.
I need some help. All I want is a wash and moisturizer that works for me. I'm tired of the trial and error! Also, I don't wear any face make up so I'm not really into foundations or powders to help the oil.

My face + makeup= disaster.

,do you use any toners after you wash?

Well, your skin looks like that after not washing for a few days because it's pretty much covered in oil, dirt, & dead skin cells, which in turn clogs your pores & causes the bumpiness.

what exactly is your skincare routine?
I highly recommend exfoliating & using a toner if you aren't already.

You need to stick to a strict skincare routine religiously. Also, by trying to combat only 1 problem at a time (ex. oiliness and not dryness, or vice versa) you're not really going to solve the problem overall. Washing your face with soap is actually not good at all, it can actually really dehydrate your skin therefore making your skin work harder to produce more oil and this is why you are so oily all the time. People usually get oily skin because their skin thinks it needs to replenish the oil constantly. Using a toner like the girls above suggested will help a lot. It balances out the ph values in your skin bringing them back to a neutral level so that eventually your skin will stop constantly producing excessive amounts of oil. Even if you have oily skin you should still moisturize, never skip this step. I will recommend some skincare lines to check out.

Exfoliator:
- Body Shop Seaweed cleansing exfoliator (it can be quite rough on the skin so only use this once a week, but it's not drying and it's partially hydrating but not overly hydrating)

Cleanser:
- Body Shop Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash
- Avene Cleanance Gel Soapless Cleanser

Toner:
- Witch hazel (dilute with water)

Moisturizer:
- Simple Skincare Hydrating Light Moisturizer
- Avene (has a huge line of moisturizers that work amazing)
- Body Shop Aloe Moisturizer
- Cliniderm Moisturizer

Try the oil cleansing method. I had the same problem, lots of clogged pores and blackheads and my skin was actually dehydrated!! But it still works for oily skin.

Usually you use a mix of castor oil and another oil like jojoba and massage it in, then put a hot towel over it, then wipe it off!!

There's a lot of great blogs about it, do some research before you try it because it may not be for everyone!

I second the recommendation on using the oil cleansing method. Here is a great resource :

It sounds like your skin is craving moisture that's why it's creating it.
Try to stay AWAY from oil free products and go for noncomedogenic for dry skin.
And moisturize your skin while it's still damp from cleaning. DO NOT wait for your skin to dry.
