Purple Ombré Lips: Opinions?

I was bored last night so I tried practicing my ombré lip. I was trying to go from purple to pink but the purple kind of overpowered the pink. Any tips on doing ombré lips? Do you guys start from the outside or inside? And what are some other color combos I can do?
PS. Please excuse the fact that you can see all my pores and my super white face. I don't tan my face and I wasn't wearing foundation. 😂

Thank you ladies! I've tried to do the black to red before but the black always overpowers the red. Basically whatever color I put the outside takes over the whole lip so you can barely see the inside color. :-( I really love all these ideas Sandra I really want to try that brownish to nude.

I love it! I would so wear this!

Tips:
-start from the outer rims
-line with the darkest color
-apply your midtone over lapping that liner leaving a medium circle in the middle bare
-apply the lightest color In the bare area
- here's the trick! Don't rub your lips or nothing together
-use a clean lip brush and feather the edges of each color together
-apply the darkest liner again ever so lightly for a precise lip shape
