@ Brittany B. -- Im in Jersey also! You don't need a license to be freelance. However, in order to actually get some work, people like to be able to trust you so if you can get certified as a makeup artist that would be best. As you know, Jersey barely has any schools that ONLY specialize in makeup. In fact, there's really only one. The Robert Fiance Makeup Academy in south Jersey. You should check it out. Since makeup is your main interest, I recommend getting certified and if you really want, getting licensed in aesthetics afterward for your own benefit. Hope that helps.

@michele..thank you.. Yes it does help!! I have looked into schools and location is a problem for me right now. Unfortunately i will have to travel to get what I want eventually. But for right now I will try to get a job at a make up counter to help build portfolio and gain more experience. Thanks again

No problem! :) Let me know how your job search goes! I would love to work at a counter but unfortunately I don't have work experience (due to being a full time student) so my applications are always overlooked. :( Hopefully one day though! Maybe after I get certified. Good luck girl. :)
