The one I own doesn't have that menthol type of feeling.. But yes I use it on my scalp for itchiness

It does not make your hair grow faster at all. But it does work for treating things in hair like dandruff and lice. I think it is a bit strong for just not reason. Real tea tree oil is very minty and strongly scented. If it's in a shampoo it typically is just a muted minty smell.
