When I get a huge zit I break open an Advil gel capsule and apply it directly to the zit, let it dry for fifteen minutes or so, then rinse with water. It reduces the zit size, redness and inflammation considerably.

If you're patient, use 15 % tea tree oil to dab on the zit gently with a q tip a few times before bed then leave it overnight, helps too.
