Okay so I've been dyeing my hair red for a while and I've always been able to bring it back to brown. after my last brown hair I dyed it with loreal hicolor hilights in magenta and when that grew out I put medium intense auburn from garnier over that. I still had very bright hair at this point. It's been about a month or so since using the garnier and I decided to go back to brown. anyways I used a medium ash brown today on it and I washed it all out and dried and all of that...and it looks exactly the same if a little bit darker overall. still bright red! My growout roots took the brown and are even lighter than their natural color that they were. So now I have light-medium brown roots and bright red hair! How do I get the red dye out of my hair so I can go to natural colors without red in it???? my hair is really healthy right noe since I cut it wayy short last month and this is the first time dyeing it since then.

I'd strip all the colour out of it if I were you, you can buy stripping treatments from drugstores

Red is extremely hard to get out Of your hair, you need color remover, and try to use as little products as possible. Deep condition between treatments.
