I have two questions regarding the flash in pictures: I like using an spf35 moisturizer under my makeup but whenever I take a flash photo my whole face looks white? Also I have sparse eyebrows so use an eyebrow kit to fill them in but when I take pics with flash my eyebrows look so fake like way more Brown than how it does in person help!

Well, check your makeup for the mineral called Mica, which, according to Jacqueline, is what causes flashback. As for your eyebrows, try using a slightly lighter shade to fill them in. Very very slightly lighter.

I agree with Hannah for the Mica problem. As for eyebrows I would try using something more taupey. Or at least a brown that doesn't have any warm undertones!

Obviously flashback happens when someone uses a flash on their camera. And usually flash is required for nighttime photos. So avoid spf, products with titanium dioxide & zinc oxide. Also using a matte foundation and most importantly, do not use a translucent (white) setting powder or touch-up powder. Use a powder that is your skintone. It may be hard to follow all these guidelines, but 1 or 2 of these tips will at least lessen the chance of flashback.

Not at all trying to offend, but I have to disagree a bit. SPF can cause a flashback depending on if it is physical or chemical. Physical sunscreens contain titanium dioxide and zinc oxide like Marleen B. said. These ingredients produce a white cast over the face. If it is a chemical sunscreen, such as in a foundation, you aren't going to get a flashback. So in short, if you apply real sunscreen and then foundation, you're probably going to get a flashback. If you apply a foundation with SPF in it, it's not the cause of flashback.

My moisturizer doesn't contain those ingredients Thank goodness...I can rule that out since I can't live without my moisturizer but I will definitely keep that in mind Cali F. for future reference thanks.

Jacqueline what foundations have you tested out? I feel like I must be doing something wrong because when I use the studio fix fluid it ALWAYS has that sort of flashback when there's like.. Well flash haha, obvi. Yet it matches good without the flash. It actually looks a tad darker and I don't use powder with mica or

You should always wear sunscreen underneath your makeup. Protect your faces, ladies.
