When I do smokey eyes I can't use nude lipstick because I have dark skin and it doesn't look good to me (I look like dead)! what lipstick should I use??

I hear you! I have the same problem. part of it could be the nude shade. if it's still too harsh, you can always do a peach or a light mauve so you get the contrast you would with a nude lip, but without washing you out. color on your eye look could help (like a purple smokey eye over traditional black).

Try a lipstick that either matches or is a shade darker than your skin tone you can even use your foundation or concealer over your lips with some gloss to get that nude lip too.

Or I find a pale pink lip usually works good too.

Here's the thing with nude lipsticks. If you are of light complexion then light nude lipsticks will be great for you. Anything lighter will look terrible. Same goes darker complexions. Just because you hear nude it doesn't mean a beige lipstick automatically. It means a nude lipstick for you, your skin color. Try looking for a lipstick that isn't too dark or too light than your skin.

Don't try concealer unless it's just like your skin tone. Other than that the concealer will dry and make your lips look ashy

I agree with Cydney. same problem wth my skin tone. I generally wear a light layer of a lipgloss of any color...that brightens up the lip but still gives the nude lip look.

Yeah Diggie is right the concealer thing does dry out the lips - here was a good article beautylish did on nude lipsticks for the darker skin girls http://www.beautylish.com/a/vxszv/nude-lipstick-for-dark-skin.

Use a rose lipstick. It's not too dramatic and it won't wash you out. Try tea rose or infinite by NYX and maybelline
