I would get it done at a salon. I used to dye my hair at home and my scalp would itch for weeks because I got the dye directly on my scalp.

I've used the Olia brand at home to dye my hair red, it's a nice gentle dye which uses oil rather than ammonia and gives you a good vibrant red colour.

I love the color red :) (my natural hair color)
I don't think you have to bleach your hair to get it unless you have dark hair. But to get rid of red hair you have to bleach it out.
Also the color red fades very easily. Radiant red is a good shampoo and conditioner to keep the red from fading. Also it can be harsh on your hair.
You can do it at home if you feel comfortable doing it. If you are not comfortable with it, then I would get it from a salon.

Go to a beauty supply store for quality products at the very least.

I do my own hair. :) I use Manic Panic but honestly wouldn't recommend it. It bleeds like no other and leaves my pillow cases, shower, face, and boyfriend bright pink all the time lol. I've heard Provana is great but I haven't tried it yet :) I just used up the last of my MP my last recolor 2 weeks ago and I can't waaaaittt to try the Provana! Post pics when you dye it :)

You sure can! I used to dye mine red all the time without using bleach. You'd only have to use bleach if your hair is waayy dark but you can sometimes find specific red dyes made for dark hair. Also you don't have to necessarily bleach to get red out; A good box of color Oops does the trick.

I'm sorry. This isn't a brand or anything but I really like this color.
