How to fade acne scars/dark spots.. PLEASE HELP!!

I have suffered with acne for 6 years on and off and never really seem to have it under control like it will just break-out randomly but it is doing much better! But my main problem now is scarring/dark spots. My scars are not like little potholes and do not protrude from my skin... They are flat and a darker shade. Are there any good products/treatments/home remedies that could help my acne scars fade?? Please help!! These are a big insecurity of mine:(
