if you enjoy it then it shouldn't matter what other people think, if its what you want to do then do it!

You can do whatever you want, especially if you love it! Just practice as much as you can and get as much experience as you can. I wanted to be a fashion designer when I was really young, so I took up all of the classes I could and asked professionals if I could help them to gain experience(as a paid or unpaid intern), and I took every opportunity I could. It got me very far, I ended up designing fashion lines, working in hands-on environments, and learning a million things I never could from a book (youtube and blogs weren't very relevant back then). I suggest going out and trying to make connections and get as many hands on learning opportunities as possible. Do your work and show your work with every opportunity you get, it will really help. I'm sure people are telling you your work is good to encourage you, and even if they are just making you feel good at least you're gaining confidence and experience by continuing to do it.. I think thats excellent. Take compliments and criticisms and learn from them, but over all keep doing it, because you want to. Your further interest and knowledge about the logistics(all the legal work you mentioned) is excellent too. I think you should keep doing it and as long as you enjoy and love doing makeup, you'll be able to have a successful career =)
