My hair is straight as a board. I try to curl it and it straightens back out after literally 10 minutes unless I spray it with a ton of hair spray. But then it's so stiff that it doesn't even look cute! I need help making my hair look naturally wavey or curl. Any suggestions?

My hair was fairly straight and fine(highly dense though) and I used to have this problem(before over processing-changed my texture). I find that using hot rollers works a million times better than a curling iron or wand. I also used to sleep with foam rollers in my hair and it worked amazingly! I used to hate putting products in my hair, especially hair spray, but I find I don't really need much if any when I use hot rollers. You can also try some other heatless options that you can do before bed and take out the next morning. You can try pin curls, rag curls, or this method of wrapping your head around an elastic headband(google "heatless headband curls). Those have worked for me, but I much prefer hot rollers. You can also try braiding your hair over night and using a sea salt spray to make waves, but I am not sure how effective that will be(I've never actually done this!)
