Try a thinner line and try to flick it out so it's more defined. It just takes practice.

As opposed to tape, just dip a Q-TIP in some makeup remover and wipe the edge of it against your wing. It'll give it that perfect straight point ☺

You want to make sure to keep a steady hand and pull the outer corner of your eyelid skin outward to make it easier to apply a smooth line and make sure its even...this is a close up of my eyeliner if it helps.
