Anyone try the rubbing alcohol method to fix broken compacts/shadows?

Just received my Balm order from hautelook & surprise, broken new Cindy Lou manizer. I hate to return since it takes FOREVER so would like to salvage.

Any tips...thanks!

Its kinda of a 50/50 thing. I used the alcohol trick and in some situations it was a success while other times it wasnt...the texture/color was off and it made for a difficult application. It just all depends on the ingredients and if it can handle the alcohol. Powders that contain emollient properties might not fair too well because the alcohol will dry it out.

I wouldnt risk it. I'd send it back. Maybe they'll send you a new immeditely while the damaged item is in transit back to them. You won't know until you ask.

I saw a good clip on Snap guide (iPhone app) for a step by step on how to fix a broken powder blush. Really an excellent tutorial. Good luck!!

Thanks ladies, I tried it last night, let it dry overnight & by this am, it held in place & good to go. Much appreciated!

@janette b call Hautelook they will refund you the money and they don't have you send it back. They can't replace it bc it was a flash sale and they don't have any to replace the broken compact. They are very understanding and nice I've had to do this a few times/ I seem to have bad luck sometimes ordering from Hautelook since sometimes they don't package the items very protectively! Hope that helps. As far as fixing the alcohol tricks works well.
