Jacqlyn I just wanna try some boots or denim things and leather bag or something like this. Maybe thebraided hair which I like really much. I don't want to wear costumes or be like a native American. Just take a bit of their lifestyle over into my normal daily live cause I really like their way how to life and deal with problems and their respect of nature and the animals. So I don't want to be a native American or be disrespectful with them and their culture or do anything wrong with my clothes to make them angry or something like this. So I'll search for the real western. I really just like the lifestyle and I want to take over a bit of their clothes. For example wear a little feather in hear not like the native American with a band only that it falls down together with my hair. I don't think that that is a custom isn't it?

All of us have ethnicity, cultures and traditions that fashion has taken liberties with. Hell...they slap the American Flag on flip flops and people spend their entire day just stepping on my flag. It can be fabulous used in fashion, I don't like it used on the bottom of shoes, myself. Crosses are from several cultures and some religions, yet are used with little thought repeatedly, for example. Egypt, India and Arabia are common themes in make up.....despite some make up application was historically used by their cultures during rituals...weddings, funerals..homages to Gods, etc.
Eyeliner alone is a nod to beauty...as is jewelry. Egyptians had purpose for everything. I believe intent plays a pivotal role in how to properly avoid offending someone.
I think ponchos, jewelry, and certain items are nothing more than an admiration of their beauty. Aside from anything spiritually ritualistic, Native American fashion can be worked into a stylish, yet respectable wardrobe. I certainly would never wear a Headdress, for example. I'm incredibly uncomfortable wearing anything I even THINK feels disrespectful to Native American Tribes ...even in their absence. I have no desire to mock their culture or pain...nor rob them of their identity, let alone assume it myself...so Jacqlyn does indeed make a valid point. I sometimes see "Indian" fashion and cringe because I know the "designer" is exploiting, but usually those sort of things stand out among softer, kind nods made in appreciation of the beauty of tribes.
A prime example of a respectful nod to the west would be Maggie from The Walking Dead. She runs more Western than Country.....Wild West to be exact (in her recent choices) Love that whole "Fist Full of Dollars" Eastwood vibe her poncho and holster had. Obviously, Mexican culture was tapped into...and beautifully done.
Despite jokes, Country and Western cross over into several genres. Urban Western has a lot of contrasted stitching and tends to mimic more of what you'd see a cowboy wear.....if he were going to make a statement..if that makes sense. That crosses over into Rockabilly and some Country. Old School Country centers more around softer, farm-influenced styles like gingham and plaid...lace...lots of cotton..and the boots are less stylish and more along the lines of what you're average farm girl would wear...largely out of necessity. Sundresses are a more romantic country...some A line skirts...florals.., etc. Then there is the "Modern Country" which I don't even acknowledge because it seems like it's gone from "Glam Country" (big hair and sequins} to a mish-mosh of sexually geared outfits and an attempt to be hip and edgy. It just doesn't pair well in my opinion soooo obviously not a fan...lol If you love it, well, you should rock what makes you feel good.
I'd love to help, but am unsure of which genre you seek.
