I have asked this before but this time I actually am getting to do someone's hair and makeup for prom! I am so excited, but I want everyone's opinion on how much I should charge! Here is some things you need to know to give me a price:
• I live in a pretty small town BUT pageants/proms aren't taken lightly and are very glitzy. (Big hair, etc.)
•I will be using a mixture of makeup products some expensive and some that aren't. Same for hair!

*If you want some examples of hair I've done, I will post if you ask!

Also how much extra would you charge for travel? Say like 30-45min travel. I appreciate all opinions and just because there might be a lot of people saying their opinion PLEASE don't hold yours in please says yours too. Thank you! 😘😊

Hair should be about $45 and makeup about $40-50. That's including the traveling fee.

You should charge hourly. Traveling for any sort of work is commonplace and so 30-45 minutes wouldn't merit factoring into charges. It's a short ride for most people.

I would compare my prices to other skill based services. How much is a Mani/pedi? What is the charge for a Brazilian...or to get hair washed and styled in your area? Your skill level and quality of your kit should also be a factor. Perhaps weighing those will help give you an idea of what would be a good price. You should obviously make a profit from the job. Good luck! :)

I would personally charge $75 for both hair and makeup with a $10 travel fee.
