Curls going flat?!?

How can I stop my curls from going flat during the day? Btw I have a curler but I use heatless ways I put my hair in rope braids to get curls overnight and it works out really well.

I use clips at my roots to lift it n use a little mouse. It works. I have tight natural curls.
