How Do You Apply Blusher Properly?

I've tried applying blusher lately, but am really not sure if I'm applying it correctly! Any tips/advice ladies?

Also, forget the smile method. It's so old school (not in a good way) because if you smile and relax your mouth, your blush drops and makes your cheeks appear more low. Apply it without smiling.

As Symone said, smiling to add blush will only work when you're younger. There are so many ways to apply blush, I'm glad Jacqlyn put up that pic. But really there may be many different ways that work for your face :)

I love Jacqlyn's pics. What really helps me not got the clown look with applying blush is applying with a light hand and using my angled blush brush.
