That's crappy :c
it's honestly been the complete opposite for me. everything I've bought lately I absolutely love! however, I do put way too much thought & time into deciding exactly what product to buy when I plan on going shopping.
maybe before going out, read some reviews on the product you want, & try it on in-store before buying.
you can also usually return lightly used products if you're not a fan (:

I have been crazy cautious with my purchases and even doing research and reading reviews, I've been disappointed with a majority of my purchases. Drugstore mascaras... can't do them. I've returned and thrown out more recommendations than I can recall. Bought a MAC eyeliner...blah. My sister gave me some MAC lipsticks...gave them all to a friend for her kit. They just do not do it for me. My Naked 3? Still trying to make that happen with my complexion.

On the upside, Sephora and Ulta are great with returns and when I do actually find something wonderful, it feels like Christmas! MAC Strobe Cream and Stila liner were major victories for me. Whew!
