Hey girls, sorry for asking so many questions today, my brain just hasn't turned off hahaha.
Anyways, I was wondering if you guys could tell me which drug store box dyes are best for dyeing blonde hair to a vibrant red (fire truck) colour?
Thanks beauties! Xx

When you're blonde, it's not that hard to go red, I personally think red has so much pigment it's pretty easy to go to. Now I normally would never recommend anyone to purchase drug store hair dye because it's so bad for your hair and it's a pain the ass for us hair stylists to get it out lol but anyways, I used color splat on my hair when I did it about 5 years ago and it came out super bright I had to tone it down because it was too bright for me. And if not, you can try a red dye from Sally's

Thanks girls, and gen, I know using box dyes are horrid, but I've been box bleaching for 6 years so there's no hope for this mane hahahahaha.

Woah! I hated the feria dye! Try the Loreal preference dyes if you want a more vibrant red, the feria dye didn't take very well to my hair and also came out more of an orange tone.

I've been dying my hair red for a good few years so here are my favourites:
L'oreal Feria is a good vibrant red but the formula is very runny and will drip down your head. It also fades in a couple of weeks with washing every other day.

Swarzkoff (or something like that :P) Live Colour XXL has a range of reds that are all gorgeous and come out well and they do last. Fade in about four weeks to a rusty colour, depending on your natural colour I guess.

Garnier Olia do a colour called Intense Red that is good and the hair feels very soft afterwards as opposed to dry and strawlike with an itchy scalp.

L'oreal Preference and Excellence Creme do reds too I think but I can't remember what they're like.

Personally I'm not a fan of semi-permanents because they can be messy, tend to stain the skin and will ruin your towels and run when you wash your hair. That said, I've used Directions reds and have never had a more intense colour.
My favourite of the bunch is Swarzkoff because of vibrancy, colour range, and length of time before fading.

Oh and red will take to any colour lighter than a medium brown. Darker than that and it's more of an auburn with a red sheen in the sun.

Since your blonde most reds should come out gorgeous and bright! Its not drugstore (atleast where I live) but semi-permanants are your best bet such as Manic Panic, Crazy Colour, Directions by La Riche (?) - totally don't damage your hair since they are all natrual ingrediants and act like a conditioner BUT can be quite a bit of upkeep BUT soo worth it!
Permanents I can think of at the top of my head is Schwarzkopf XXL / HD colors - very popular, personally never tried on blonde hair. Schwarzkopf also do semi-permanent dyes which work the same way as I mentioned above and ARE very good ( I used the blue and was a b**** to get rid of but loved it!)
Another is Feria, not too familiar with their colours and not sure if they do reds but deffinately check them out!
Sorry bit of a long reply ahah
