Made me feel cakey, did anyone else have this problem?

I went to a department store and went to the Estee Lauder counter to see if they had a sample of the double wear foundation. She matched my shade and poured me a little vial full, the two times I used it it caked up. I used a moisturizer both times and I used a primer. Nothing helped, I looked cakey. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please and thank you.

A stippling brush, I use it for other foundations and I'm usually fine. I forgot to mention I wasn't cakey all over, just in spots.

Maybe try a Lighter one there's 3 different ones from Light coverage to heavier.

Mia, that stuff is THICK business. Maybe thick is the wrong word, um heavily opaque? I actually just listed it on the "foundation you disliked" thread. Looking at your picture, I doubt you need something so heavy?
The EL double wear seems like a HG for gals with skin coloration differences, scarring etc., if you don't have those things I don't think you need that much coverage.

I do have things I want to hide lol I think I'm just going to have to keep looking though. That sample also made my face a little itchy.

I wonder if it also didn't mix well with the primer.

That's what I thought so I used a different one on the second night and still same issue.

Try mixing in primer or moisturizer to thin it out more. I found that it caked on my skin as well as giving the tight skin sensation on my forehead. So I mix it up and the coverage remain good enough to hide my blemish spots without the cakey feeling.

Thank you, I'll have to try that I still have some left in the vial.
