I really like some ideas to getting every piece of makeup out my brushes, yet in a gentle way. Any ideas?

I usually just wash them with baby shampoo or mac's brush cleaner at least twice a week. And put them to dry upside down. there's actually this really cool thing where you can just hang your brushes and make it way easier for them to try and not ruin the bristles on the brush.

Hi Courtney! Here's a link to our video on brush cleaning, safe, easy, fast, natural- and smells like Heaven!!😍 I was turned to this method by a Japanese brush expert, natural hairs need something gentle and conditioning with no sulfates- but still removes waterproof cremes! Let me know if you have questions! 😘 http://youtu.be/0_dxejcdKP4.

I use the Parian Spirits brush cleansing wipes. I love them! Jackie recommends Parian Spirits as well; but I like them because they're fast and easy, next to no dry time, it leaves your brushes smelling orangey and wonderful, and it's super gentle. Jackie could explain to you about how it's a solvent based cleanser and such better than I ever could, but the shortened version of it is that it doesn't leave any kind of buildup on your brushes like other cleansers do. In addition to which, she taught me that water is SO bad for your brushes. The more often you expose them to water, the more likely it is that the glue will loosen. Personally, I clean my brushes every couple of weeks :)

Hey Hannah, I was wondering how often should you clean brushes you use more than others like say foundation or eye shadow brushes?
Aug 13, 2014
Hannah K.
Well, I'm not sure about foundation brushes, but like I said I clean my eye brushes every couple of weeks. Once I'm done using them daily, I wipe them off on a tissue to get the more loose residue off. I basically wipe my brushes on the tissue until they don't leave any more product, then I put em away.

I use baby shampoo and face wash. Sometimes it takes a few rinses for my face brushes though.

@Shawna you should clean ALL your brushes every week. I wash mine every Sunday, so I'd set a day for cleaning brushes.

I wash mine with baby shampoo and sometimes I add a little bit of olive oil.

No problem :) and I'd like to add that weekly washing is actually excessive, over washing can ruin your brushes so as long as you're lightly cleaning them after you use them, you should only have to deep clean, like I said, every two weeks or so.

2 tablespoon of vinegar 2 tablespoons dish wash soap and 1 cup hot water instantly pulls out all the makeup in 15 mins dry than and doesn't smell after they've been dry and their so soft :) my best advice!

I don't leave them in there for a long time like I said it instantly pulls junk out so not too long and I've been doing it for like years now and nothing's happen to my brushes they stay clean, smell clean and look clean.
