They never seem to have anything I need in stock. I'm always leaving empty-handed from things I needed.

When they had their big jumbo sale for salon shampoos and conditioners, it took almost an act of congress to finally get a bottle of the Sexy Hair sulfate-free curly shampoo...they had bottles upon bottles of conditioner, but never the flippin' shampoo. I asked when it would come in, and they said on their next delivery but they couldn't guarantee it. What.

For the past week I've been on the hunt for a bottle of UD Naked Skin in the shade 0.5, or the lightest shade they had. I bought a bottle last Friday but when I got it home, the bottle had leaked and there was foundation all over the box and bottle. I took it back to exchange it but they were all out of my shade, and they said they would get a shipment in on Monday and they put me on a list, and they'd give me a call on Monday when it came in. They never did.

So I went in yesterday before work to go pick up a bottle...THEY WERE STILL OUT. The sales girl had gone through the drawers and couldn't find the shade at all. It seemed as if the shade had never come in. She said that they can't control what they get in for deliveries. I made my displeasure very obvious and left.

On top of these events and constantly being met with clueless employees, limited stock on just about everything and a messy store...going in there isn't as much of a joy as it used to be. I'd go to Sephora, but the nearest one is an hour and a half away at the Mall of America. If we had one here in town I'd be giving them my business more because I'm getting really sick of Ulta's crap.

I'm in Canada, we don't have ulta so I've never been to one. But we have shoppers drug mart which is close to the same thing, high end and low end cosmetics and stuff. They're almost all terrible visits lol. It's once in a blue moon you get a good worker who actually means what they say and is nice. There was one time I left my wallet in the car, didn't realize it and went up to the till with the last one on the shelf of a LE product, and a few other things. I said "oh crap I left my wallet in the car, Can you hold this stuff for me? I'll be 30 seconds". She smiled and said yes no problem, asked my name and put my stuff in a basket with a sticky note with my name on it. As I was walking towards the door I heard the girl behind me asking about that LE product and if they had more. I didn't think anything of it, ran to the car and ran back. There was no one in line so I went straight to the till, there was a different person there and I explained. His name tag said manager. As the guy ran my stuff through I realized it was 45$ less than I expected, and my LE palette was gone. I explained and he said "hold on I'll go ask the girl who was just at till" and walked away. 10 minutes later (not exaggerating) he comes back and says "her shift ended, she went home" so I got pissed off, and said something along the lines of "what the hell did you make me wait 10 minutes for? And what kind of employees do you have that sell things that are put on hold for other people? I was gone for less than a minute, she could literally see me through the window, what kind of person allows their employees to do that?" And he just stared at me and said "I can't control what my employees do. Are you purchasing these products or can I put them away?" I started to argue and get mad, since he was treating me like shit and not even apologizing for it. After 5 minutes of bitching at him for how horrible staff this has been, I was about to walk away when the girl came out of the back. She came up to the till and I asked her why she sold my product, and she said point blank "it was my friend, I knew she wanted it. It was the last one so I let her buy it." I just walked away and called their head office in the car while in the parking lot. They thanked me for calling and telling them since it's a "disgrace to the name of the company" to have disrespectful workers, and gave me a 50$ gift card to replace what I would have got. It wasn't as good as a LE UD palette but it was nice of them. None of my shoppers trips are good, at best they're okay if I don't get treated like I'm below them and I'm stupid, since you ask a question like "how does this eyeliner apply? Does it glide on smooth or does it streak and give uneven results?" And you get "it's a pen liner, they work like a pen. The liquid is stored up here and comes out the tip." Told in a slow voice like they're teaching a 4 year old. That happened a few days ago when I was asking about a loreal liner. I've worked retail, it's not that hard to be nice to people, or hire nice people haha.

Sorry this is so long lol. But when you have shifty experiences, call the head offices. They sometimes give you things to accommodate for shitty visits/staff.

Before I bought that first bottle of UD Naked skin the sales girl who came over to me offered to try it out on my skin. I told her why I was wanting to try the Naked Skin out, that I wanted to upgrade to a higher end product because the cheaper stuff always seems to oxidize on my skin and slide off my face throughout the day. She had said I'm supposed to use primer, talking to me like I was a complete moron. I told her that I do, that I alternate between Too Faced Primed & Poreless and Hourglass Mineral Veil...she asked me, "What's Hourglass?" I was stunned. I know Ulta doesn't sell Hourglass, but how could you not know about what is considered to be the Rolls-Royce of face primers? Then after she applied the foundation on my face (which looked like hell by the way), she put on a blush and covered my face with bronzer, which she applied too much of and I looked like a clown. The second I got home I washed everything off, I looked awful.
