Primer is like a base to even out and prep your skin before foundation. There are all kinds of primers out there, primers for color correcting, for blemishes, photo ready, and so on. Later on, you'll be able to recognize which suits you best. You can usually apply your primer with your fingers as you would apply a face cream, some people prefer a small stipple brush, since you're barely starting I would suggest using clean fingers. After your primer has set, you apply your foundation as you usually would. Depending on the type of foundation you use, there's many methods of application. From there on out, you can contour and highlight and all that jazz, as well as apply blush. Like the girls said, there are endless videos on Youtube that are super helpful! If you need any more help, feel free to ask me, I'd be more than glad to help!
