If it's cropped, low-mid rise jeans or shorts would look very awkward but if it's not a cropped shirt then go for it! You can wear light wash high waisted jean shorts, black distressed ones or even leggings with a faux leather stripe down the side and a plaid shirt tied around your waist/hips would look good.
