How long before you give up on a product?

I feel like I'm holding on to products too long before I finally realize they don't work for me. I try to give whatever I'm trying a fair shot, if it's foundation I will try different brushes or primer before I regulate it unworkable. I just gave my Revlon Nearly Nude foundation another test try and I'm done. I can't get it to work at all. I've had it too long to return and it's now in my trash. I'm just wondering if anyone else will hold on to products too long to return just to see if it will work different times of the year or when your skin is responding differently?

I normally don't hold on to products to long. I give them 2 tries, maybe 3 then I return it if it still doesn't work for me for that same reason I don't want to go past due.

I usually give it about two weeks to really give it a good go! we can't return things so I make sure it will work by getting testers if possible and lots of research into the product

Ok thanks all. With skin care I will finish the product unless I am having a bad reaction. I tend to save products like foundation for my days that I'm not really going to be out. If it looks like crap, I'm home, no big deal. That's usually Sundays. Time to rethink that strategy.
