It depends on how short you want it. Mine was to my waist and I got it to my shoulder blades

Take a A ruler and measure.

The best thing you can do is take a ruler and measure from where you want it to be cut and then you can see where the 8inch mark is so you know how long it has to be. Remember that for donation it's not just length but health as well! Condition and treat your hair right! Don't use a lot if heat styling tools and if you do use a heat protectant. Also try not to color whirl you're growing it out for donation as that really hurts you hair. Just keep all that in mind as well. You could grow your hair out really long but if it isn't healthy you'll have done it all for nothing. :) hope that helped!

Its all dependent on your growth pattern so it could take you anywhere from 12 to 18 months. Another thing...avoid coloring your hair (highlighting included) as hair color of any kind could exclude you from donation. Kendra gave great pointers and I would definitely follow her advice. I've donated twice myself and its great to hear of others doing the same. xxx
