No it wouldn't do anything to your hair color wise, damage wise I don't know. But why would you want to put plain developer in your hair anyways?

Developer isn't activated until it's mixed with anything, so I wouldn't think it'd do anything harmful by itself. However, I have the same question as Shelby. What's the purpose?

Idk cause I was curious and it doesn't hurt to ask :)

And because I want to lighten my hair.

You'd have to use lightener with the developer in order for it to lighten :) developer does nothing on its own.

To lighten your hair you would need to mix color or bleach with it. if you have virgin hair, then you can use a lighter shade. if not then you would need bleach, but I wouldn't recommend doing either by your self. lightening dark hair can result in unwanted brassy tones.

Then you'd either have to mix it with hair color or bleach to do so. Just devoper won't achieve that. And if you're current color is the one in your profile picture, you're going to need a higher developer most likely.

Developer needs the lightener to oxidize, otherwise you just have stinky goop on your head that will mostly likely just dry it out and make it crunchy/itchy.
