A simple ponytail is the best for all sports. with a headband if your hair tends to fall out of place.

another one would be a french or dutch braid. they don't hold as well but they'll do.

lastly there's the bun - but I personally don't like them for sports because they jiggle too much haha.

A braided pony tail, it's just a regular pony tail with the tail part braided and congrats for making the team!!

That's so awesome congrats! I'm hoping to get onto my basketball team too:) I suggest a simple pony tail and you can use sports tape for cheap headbands, French braids, or a twist into a low ponytail ( I don't suggest buns because when you run they bounce and you can't tighten them like you can a ponytail)
