I'm thinking about caving in to Mac, what do you ladies think?

Thanks Alexis, I'll add it to my cart and see how I feel about it.

Thank you so much, Gen =) If it's a trend to hate on Mac, I must be a hipster, cause I've just never been a fan, you know? But, I am trying, and I hope that maybe I end up liking something. I do agree with you about the price, though, I don't think Mac is expensive, especially when probably 90% of my makeup collection is high end. Mac's not necessarily ridiculously priced, however, when you don't get use out of something it is most certainly a waste of money to buy it. I'll look into your suggestions, thank you!

I wasn't thrilled with their foundation or powder, but I love their lipsticks. I'm wearing craving now & plumful is another favorite. I also love the studio fix concealer. It covers anything with only the tiniest amount. It lasts forever! I've only tried a few blushes, but really like springsheen.

Ahhhh Jackie, you never disappoint. Thank you so much, I'll definitely look at all of those. I do understand the difference in preference, especially because I'm pretty sure we have very different skin types (don't we?) but while you grew up with Mac, I grew up with Urban Decay and I honestly just love almost everything they do, because it all works wonderfully for me =)

The picture that Aisha posted is my photo and it's of my own homemade MAC Fix + Dupe; Not Mac Fix + and I wouldnt waste my money on MAC Fix +.

Mac Fix + is just water and glycerin...
Water is obviously available at home, and glycerin is sold at Walmart for $3.00.
Mac Fix + is just good at diluting foundation without melting it off because of the Glycerin. Everything else is just added for benefits (But only if it use it without make up). I, personally do not see the big deal on an overpriced idea of water and Glycerin but that's just me...

Wow, thanks for the explanation, Kitty. I'll leave out the Fix+

I agree with kitty about the fix + its just glorified water! I can get the same effect from avene thermal spring water for half the price or la roche posay spring water! fix + does smell nice but I won't pay 20euro for that :)

Thanks Jackie =) I'm working on trying to be more like you, trying more things and being more open minded.

Mac fix+ is not only glycerin and water... Kitty I know you have done the same job that fix+ did... It was the only picture I had to explain to Hannah what fix+ can do... Even tho I still recommend it... It's the most magical product I had from mac 💖

I'm not into MAC at all either. I just recently tried their eyeshadow and it was awful. I was so unimpressed with it, it was chalky and didn't blend at all. I wore my glasses to work to try to cover up my eyeshadow because I was so unhappy with it and didn't have time to redo it. I do have a lipstick, Chatterbox, and the color is beautiful and the formula isn't bad either but it doesn't feel anywher near as luxurious as Urban Decay or some other brands I've used. I have also tried a lipglass and it is terribly tacky yet still not very long lasting at all, so that was also disappointing.

You know me, I'm a UD junkie as well so I would say stick with them lol. I won't touch any of their foundations but I may try the concealer at some point just to see because I do hear rave reviews on it but I think there are other ones I want to try first.

And ugghh the Alice palette. I regret that soo much. Like deep in my bones regret not getting it.??

Caitlin, you may be my makeup soul twin =) I completely know the feeling. I'm still staring at my Mac shopping cart, trying to verify that it's what I want...

I've read so many crazy articles on how MAC breaks people out really back and gives them dark spots I stay far far far far away from MAC face products the only thing I use by them are lip products, fix plus, paint pots and brushes. 😊

I tried their felt tip eyeliner (I forgot the actual name) and I love love loved it, but then it didn't last long at all. Like it dried out really fast and I'm still unsure why.

I would say you can skip their shadows. Fix + is a great solution that I use as a refresher and as a pre-moisturizer as well. The 217 brush is a must. The paintpots are pretty awesome but I need a shade between painterly and soft ochre to be completely satisfied. For the lipsticks, I like their Lustre, satin and amplified formula. Cremesheen is OK. I have Chatterbox, Brave, Lovelorn, cremecup, Crosswires, Plumfull, VG Nicki...their lipsticks are on the cheaper end at ~$16ish.
