Hello ladies,
My best friend has her hair dyed bright pink. It is faded though, and she is trying to get rid of the color and nothing seems to help the pink budge.
As far as she's told me, she's done bleach baths and she says she has tried to lift the color using a color lifter.
I don't dye my hair other than black, so I wouldn't know what to tell her and she cannot afford to go to the hair stylist.
Since I know lots of you ladies like to dye your hair all sorts of colors by yourselves, I'm hoping one of you can maybe provide some help that I can forward her way.
Thanks in advanced :)

She doesn't have to actually go to a stylist, I would just call one and see what they recommend. My friend always does that she just calls them and then try's out the product they suggest

Thanks Brittany, I suggested it to her so hopefully she does just that. Her aunt was a hair stylist but wants no part of it unfortunately :(

Have her get an age defying lifter. I used one today on my red hair and now it's nearly completely blonde. I used a brand called Age Beautiful, they sell it at Sallys :)

Think of when you're mixing colors. To make pink you need red & white and red tends to be the hardest color to remove. I believe color lifters only pull color up to two levels that's why she didn't see results with that. To remove red you would need to actually lighten her, not just a bleach bath cause they're different.

Chlorine in pools helps color face extremely fast. Also vitamins c washes with vitamin c powder or powder from the pill and non color safe shampoo, wash your hair like regular and it'll fade the color a lot. She just needs to keep trying. Washing with HOT water will fade it. Once it's completely faded, then the color stripper will work a lot better.

Thank you ladies, I forwarded the info to her. She's had the pink since May so she's desprate for a new color.

I can't imagine! I usually change my color every two months or so. I tend to get bored of the color really fast, so I've learned a lot about stripping and different ways to do so. Best of luck!

How faded is the pink? If it's a pastel shade she could try using purple shampoo on dry hair for about 5-10 minutes, it may leave her with a silver tint but it'll get rid of the faded pink, or at least this worked for me :)

It's worked like that with me too Kiimy, I guess it depends on hair texture and whatnot.
