With a hair style like this it's all about how you brush out the pin curls which can be tricky.

Overnight foam curls work best for me. Only, like, $5 at your local drug store.

When I was little my grandma would just take pieces of my (damp) hair and wind it around her finger from the bottom up then fasten the little circle of hair to my head with crisscrossed bobby pins. Then I'd sleep in them and in the morning take it all down. ( or once it's dry)

Obviously you can experiment with different sized pcs of hair and how tight you wind it:)

Angela that's exactly what my great aunt, who turned 93 years young yesterday, has done for 70 years or more- she brushes it out and puts her hair up for volume; but when my sister and I were girls, she used to do ours, too and we would brush it out and leave it down and it looked like Megan fox's more or less!

:) The women of that generation seem to know how to do everything. I can barely make it to work with matching socks on half the time lmao!

I tried using heat and setting the curls in bobby pins for like an hour. but halfway through the day my hair was back to being straight :( I also find the part when you have to brush it out to be really hard, as I feel like I'm ruining it.
