So every winter for the past 3-4 years I suffer from a dry, itchy scalp. last winter I began using head and shoulder and it seemed to help somewhat. at the beginning of the summer I stopped using it and noticed shortly after that my hair began falling out. its mainly on the top of my head and it has thinned dramatically since summertime. does anyone have any info on whether using head n shoulders or having dry scalp in general causes hair loss? thanks girls!

I've never heard of it causing hair loss. Hair loss in moderation is normal. When it begins to be thinning and there is sizable loss, it is then a good time to get a blood panel from your physician. Hair loss can be a sign of Endocrine issues or a vitamin deficiency, both of which can be rectified.
In the meantime you may want to purchase a shampoo for thinning hair, such as Joico and invest in a wet brush ($5) to reduce snagging and breaking. Best of luck to you.

Dry scalp won't cause hair loss. chances are there is something else going on. I doubt it's a reaction to head and shoulders seeing as you didn't hair hair loss when you were using it. I would see a doctor.
