I've never personally understood the hype. They're lovely highlighters (or powders for a luminous look), but they're not lovely enough to be worth their price, in my opinion.

Ah okay, that helps me a lot ladies! If I decide to go for it I will definitely start with ethereal light and see how that goes first!! I've had them in the back of my mind forever and I love the mineral veil primer already (I really should splurge and get some more of that too. or at least treat myself to the travel size hehe) so I'm thinking I will go for it. Thanks for your input, it has helped a lot! :) I've never really seen anything like these powders so I wasn't really sure what to expect.

Well it definitely will not be too pale and it does give exactly as it describes..a moonlit glow. I am obsessed. Unfortunately it does not mattify but I still use it to set any highlight that I use (liquid). Dim light was what I was originally after but I found it to be too dark to use in the center of my face. I would use it on top of my blush/bronzer or as a light light bronzer. I am very very pale and gravitate toward yellow undertones.
As for use. I prefer to use a fluffy brush and pat it on the skin versus brushing it on

Hmm, going by what you said about your skin, I would suggest ethereal, only because it truly looks like light is bouncing off your skin and gives a very luxurious glow. if you want something a little darker with more depth, then go for dim light. if you go light handed with either of them, they both give a flawless finish and I'm sure would look gorgeous on you either way (:

I've been considering getting one of these for a while now but I don't know what shade to get. I'm thinking either ethereal light (a pale moonlight type shade, according to the description) or dim light (a more yellowish, candlelight type glow...I think.) I don't have a Sephora nearby to go an swatch or see them in person (I have Ulta but don't get there very often and am not even sure they carry the hourglass brand. I should probably look)
Anyway, I just wanted some reviews and opinions. I'm pretty fair with some yellow undertones. I kind of would like the ethereal light I think but I'm worried it may be TOO pale.
