I have greasy hair which I have to wash every day even though I know it's not good. From time to time I get flakes in the front of my scalp. I also have very long thick hair. Any tips or suggestions? Thanks!

What shampoo & conditioner do you use?

I think it's the thick hair. I have the same problem but try to wash at the most twice a week. I used the head and shoulders shampoo. It seemed to work for mine. Our thick hair causes us to have a sensitive/dry scalp so you're definitely not alone.

I just use the drugstore stuff. Right now it's the Tresemmé Moisture Rich Shampoo & Conditioner.

I used the head and shoulders shampoo and I feel like it does the job but leaves my hair feeling stripped and rough. I can't go a day without washing my hair because I wake up the next day and it looks like I put a ball of Vaseline in my hair. if I know I'm not leaving the house I won't tend to wash it. It's a struggle.

I think you should try using the aveeno pure renawal line

Well, if your hair is greasy or gets greasy quickly, a moisturizing shampoo/conditioner will only exacerbate that. Try a normal shampoo that's sulfate and sodium chloride free, like the L'oreal Ever-line. EverStrong is a really great drugstore option, if you're still looking for drugstore products.

Try Wen. It's kind of weird, at first, because it's like washing your hair with conditioner, but it's great for your hair and works really well. And it doesn't require you to wash your hair every day.

I saw that before! it looks really cool. I may try that! What about the brand OGX? I've heard people like it but I don't know if the product will like my hair.

I actually love Organix products, but my hair is really super dry, so I might not be a good representation. However, all of the ones that I tried were good for frizzy or dry hair. You might be interested in the Australian Tea Tree line or the Coconut Water line, those would likely be better for oilier hair.

Thank you Hannah! I'll probably end up trying that.

Happy to help :)

Over washing can cause more oil production so try dry shampoo to extend the time between washes

Please don't buy L'Oreal! Know that they, and most othet drugstore brands test on animals. You should check out the natural/organic section at your grocery store for some cruelty free stuff! It works just as well:)

Organix cherry blossom shampoo is great too.
