I love a red lipstick. It simplifies my look because all the attention is on my lips rather than my eyes, cheeks, skin, etc. The trick is to hunt for your 'perfect' shade, or as I have learned recently shades! With red you'll know when it's calling you. I sampled at least 50 reds before I found the one (L'Oreal Infallible Beyonce Red).

I love it. Inglot 103 is my favourite red lipstick.

I recently started wearing red lipstick on occasion. I have had trouble finding the right shade for years and sort of gave up, plus, I always felt overdone. What I've discovered is that in my case, if I want to make my lips the focus of my face, I put no eye make up on, lighten one shade for my base/concealer/whatever, and apply the lip color. I bought cheap elf lipstick in a red that looked deep but was a bit bright so I about another brownish-burgundy color and applied that over in dabs and worked it in, then I sealed it with elf's lipstick stay (don't know what it's really called, but it works). That way it looks all Parisian and far less glamour shot-like. So that's how I wear it.
