I feel like it depend on the wand. I have the same problem. I've notice if the brush is thick I can't get bit the way I want. with a thin brush.

Some people use a piece of tape or a piece of scrap paper to guide them until they can do it freehanded, it's really difficult to start off freehanded.

With a thin brush I can and it comes out more precise

Its all about what eyeliner you use! I used to be horrible with liquid until I tried pen shaped liners. I recommend using Kat Von D Tattoo Liquid Liner. It really is fool proof, super black, and last all day.

Oh sorry didn't see what you said about being in a pot... But I like using an angled eyeliner brush and drawing a line with pencil and then drawing over helps me get a more precise line.

Lmao I didn't see the pot comment either. defiantly try using a angled eye line brush that is kinda stiff but not at the end. it helps

Try resting your elbow on your counter/table/whatever while you apply it. It'll stabilize your hand and help eliminate some of the shakiness.

It helps if you have something to help stabilize your hand that's what I do and it depends on the liner too I have a thin one and a thicker one I can use them both well because I do eyeliner everyday I think if you figure out the thickness you like for liner and have something stable for your elbow and then a mirror all that's left is just practice

Lisa, I absolutely LOVE the Kat Von D liner you're talking about and it definitely is fool proof! I can do liquid eyeliner as long as the brush is pretty thin. If it's too thick my wing and the rest ends up being too thick and I hate that! I good liquid eyeliner with a thin brush is ELF's liquid eyeliner :)
