I have been debating on dying my hair brunette or red for awhile now. I think I want to go more of an Auburn because my hair is has orangy colors naturally (not brassy though). I have cool/neutral undertones if that makes a difference

I recommend John friedas color safe line, there's like tons of colors to choose from such as blonde, red, brunette, etc. I suggest you use the brunette, it's for all shades of brown. I used it with my red hair and loved it. Also, redying roots is what I hate the most, I usually just buy a box of the same dye that I used to dye my hair in the first place and touch them up.
