Every foundation sits funny on the areas on my face where I have dry skin and I was wondering if anyone has the same problem as me and knows any good foundations to use?

My skin gets worse around this time, in the summer it's not too bad🙈 the cold weather doesn't agree with my skin at all lol.

Hi Chloe!
Have you analyzed your skin care routine? Oils can help but they are only sealants , when it comes to dry skin you need to make sure you're using a proper skin care routine. What foundations have you tried out as well?

I just moisturise before I apply foundation but that's it, the most recent one I tried was Estée Lauder, the woman who tested it on me said it was one of the best but it was still very clumpy and didn't look nice at all.

What moisturizer do you use? How much coverage are you looking for? And what is your preferred finish? Also I have the same issue, hardcore.

It's a Nivea moisturiser, it's the only one I've been able to use without my face itching like crazy😩 mostly full coverage, especially for when I go out, and I prefer matte🙈

What you use to moisturizer can also affect the outcome of your foundation. Heavier creams aimed at dry skin, tend to make foundations clump/ball together. Embroylisse Lait creme concentrate works as the best primer for dry skin.. it''s like magic in a bottle! I would also make sure to exfoliate before hand so that there are no dry patches before applying foundation on, giving your skin the best base/canvas.

Yeah the moisturiser I use is very heavy, now that you mention it😕 must try that, hope something works, it's so hateful when you finish your makeup and you see a big patch of dry skin😐

Embroylisse Lait creme concentrate ( you can find here on Beautylish ) is so awesome. It's Make up artist's kit staple and I use it on days my skin is dry. ( I also have dry, very sensitive skin ).
If you find a lot of facial moisturizers can sting, I recommend avoiding moisturizers with SPF. They use Chemical Sunscreen which can cause sensitivity to skin. I use a physical sunscreen over it instead.. feels so much better and no stinging.

I must get some😬 yes definitely, every moisturiser I've used makes my face sting like mad, and I come out in a big red rash, it's awful

I have the same problem, I find that a bb cream works much better, they are much more moisturizing and not damaging to your skin.

I also have dry, sensitive skin and Miss Jacqueline recommended Laura Mercier's silk cream foundation. I just picked up a sample the other day.

I looked up reviews about the jojoba oil and it sounds really good, you can use it for anything really, like dry hair which I have, so I'm definitely going to get myself some😬

I'm a big fan of Paula's Choice skin care products. I have very sensitive combination skin and I can wear them without itching breaking out. In the summer I get all the fun of oily skin. In the winter I get dry patch horrors. Even my lightest BB creams cling to them. Paula's choice moisture boost line is fantastic. Every product, not just the moisturizer is aimed at not making the problem worse. I use this moisturizer at night and it's very very thick and takes a long time to sink in. I use a lighter moisturizer in the morning before putting on foundation (Paula's choice earth sourced) which soaks in quickly and doesn't interfere with the product.) I'm not saying you have to switch to PC (though her pricing is not terrible, it is more expensive than drug store) Jojoba oil might be really helpful for repairing some sore, dried out patches, again applying at night so it won't interfere with your makeup. You could save the heavier nivea moisturizer for evening and look for something lighter for day.

That's the exact same as me, I bought a tinted moisturiser thinking it would be great but it still came out awful and looked really orange in the areas where I have dry skin, I'll probably have to get these online as I'm from Northern Ireland and I've never heard of the Paula's choice skincare before, I've ordered the jojoba oil on eBay, it was only six pound which isn't too bad:)

PC does ship internationally, but I understand that gets expensive and the wait times are terrible. I used Boots skin care products when I lived in Ireland (a million years ago) and they were excellent. But to be fair, my skin was so much happier in all that moist damp air that I didn't have half the issues I do at home in the midwest where it is so dry.
Have you tried boots expert for sensitive skin? I've used that range as they sell in Target here. There's a day and a night creme. The day soaks in super fast and is one of the best I've used. The night one just kind of sits there forever, but it works.
