I want to dye my hair an ashy brown so it keep the ash and cancel the redness I'm told to use a blue tone shampoo. Problem is I also have light blonde highlights and I'm worried the blue will tint the blonde too?

I don't believe blue shampoo would effect it. But I thought green shampoo is used for red tints?

The blue will cancel Abby gold undertones in the blonde. I also find violet to work a bit better at canceling ashy tones.

The worst that'll happen to your blonde is it'll make them a cooler shade.

Well it's my extensions that are blonde so I'm worrying about ruining them. I just can't stand the brassy brown in my hair right now!!

It shouldn't do much to your extensions but be careful with how long it's in them, whenever I've used purple/ blue shampoo on blonde extensions they tend to take the colour much better and sometimes if left on too long will leave your hair a silver colour.

Yeah I've read that too!! I plan on doing a strand test before hand. I had a super violet purple I was using and it didn't stain them so hopefully good luck with this too!!
