What are some things I can do now ( I'm 22) to prevent sun damage I have but isn't visible yet? I know I have it because I used to lay out a lot & use tanning beds :/. But it's not visible yet.

Thanks! I've never used a vitamin c serum before, do you have any recommendations? Ones that won't break me out? I have combination skin

Definitely a stabilized vitamin c and spf 30 daily , I like Isomers C stem serum or Mario Bedscue c serum which is a dry oil

I'd get CeraVe AM moisturizer with SPF and use that daily. With Vitamin C Serum you will see a brightening of the skin. You want to look for one with ascorbic acid as the active ingredient, such as Mario Badescu. Lumene has Vitamin C droplets that leave skin incredibly smooth. I love it. Drinking Green tea, regular exfoliation (I love Philosophy's Microdelivery) and wearing sunglasses are also ways to protect yourself and ward off aging. Bump up those flavonoids and foods high in antioxidants to protect your skin from the inside out. :)

Thanks! Everyone is so helpful. I just really want to prevent it from coming through as best as I can while I still can

I'm going to look into Mario Badescu I think for the serum and I'm looking for a new exfoliator so maybe I'll check out that one from philosophy

The Philosophy one is very gentle and doesn't dry me out. I would be lost without it!

I wouldn't recommend CeraVe AM
It's not broad spectrum and it broke me out and I rarely break out that bad
Unfortunately I'm still looking for a good SPF moisturizer

CeraVe is indeed Broad Spectrum.

I don't consider 3.5% zinc oxide broad spectrum especially if you're looking to prevent sun damage

Notice how the box doesn't say broad spectrum
Because its not allowed to advertise that it's broad spectrum unless it meets standards

If your concern is it being broad spectrum cerave spf 30 is broad spectrum and I do recommend it, I use it with no issues , but of course everyone's skin is different so you never know what will break you out.

I agree it could be higher...that I'll conceed for certain on. Do you know of a better sunscreen? I have Clarins here, but I'm not sure of it's potency. I'd definitely be open to the best protection possible.

I love theirs for rough skin, severely dry and PM formulas. I'm definitely going to pick this up. You're the best!

No sorry I still haven't found a moisturizer with decent SPF
I wasn't even impressed with La Roche-Posay when I checked their list

For now I mainly use neutrogena's baby sunscreen on top of my moisturizer. It's not perfect but I'll deal with a white cast over nothing

Dec 5, 2014

Ari M.

Wowwww that CeraVe broad spectrum is crazy! 23.65% zinc oxide wow I'll have to get this

Though I have to warn you that that percentage will leave a white cast that isn't really attractive

Traci is the white cast pretty bad on that one? My skin is brown so I end up gray
